Group Dog Training Classes | Denver, Colorado

In week 1 of the Level 1 Group Classes, dogs will learn freedom walks transitioning to heel, recall exercises with distractions, practicing an implied stay in any position followed by a release cue, engaging in small play groups with recall commands, introducing the concept of "place," and mastering name recognition while surrounded by other dogs following the same cues.

In week 2 of the Level 1 Group Classes, dogs will focus on paying attention to their handler, engaging in small play groups with recall exercises, practicing calm off-leash releases, learning the "Drop it" command (using "Out"), and mastering "Place" with small or minimal distractions.

In week 3 of the Level 1 Group Classes, dogs will advance to practicing "Place" with higher distractions, refining recall into a heel position, mastering an implied stay with distractions until released, learning to respond to commands amidst loud or unusual sounds, engaging in small play groups with recall exercises, and mastering the "Leave it" command.

In week 4, dogs will learn to respond to "Place" commands from a distance, practice "2 dog Place" with name recognition and a release cue, undergo desensitization to doorbell and knocking sounds (optional for dogs trained to alert), work on door manners including not jumping and remaining calm when guests arrive, and master an implied stay while outside the facility.

In week 5, dogs will go on a field trip to a different part of the city to practice and apply the skills learned in the previous weeks, including freedom walks transitioning to heel, recall with distractions, implied stay, small play groups with recall, place commands, attention to the handler, off-leash releases, and responding to various commands amidst distractions and unfamiliar environments.
