The first stage in developing a future service dog.

This 90-day program is designed to build the obedience, public access skills, stability, and task foundations necessary for future service dog work. Designed for handlers who are committed to continuing their dog's training beyond the foundation stage.

What This Program Builds

This program focuses on foundation skills and handler education for continued service dog development.

To build a strong foundation in obedience, public access skills, stability, and task work while teaching handlers how to continue developing their dog toward full service dog training.

  • Obedience Foundations

    Sit; Down; Place; Recall; Loose leash walking; Focus and engagement

  • Public Access Foundations

    Appropriate behavior in public settings; Social neutrality around people and dogs; Settling in new environments; Working around distractions; Public access manners and expectations

  • Task Foundations

    Introduction to service dog task work; Building task understanding; Task repetition and development; Foundation skills needed for future task training

  • Stability & Confidence

    Environmental confidence; Exposure to new situations; Calm behavior around distractions; Building resilience and emotional stability

Important: This program is a foundation program and does not produce a fully trained service dog. Most service dogs require approximately 1.5-2 years of consistent training to reach full service dog standards. The purpose of this program is to establish the foundation and provide owners with the knowledge, skills, and training plan necessary to continue progressing toward that goal.
